Peace River Regional District Electoral Area "C" Representative Director Arthur Hadland Alternate Representative Councillor Larry Houley Bylaw 1531 of the Peace River Regional District mandates the North Peace Economic Development Commission. The Commission consists of five equal voting members; City of Fort. St John, District of Taylor, District of Hudson's Hope, Peace River Regional District Electoral Area "B" and Peace River Regional District Electoral Area "C." The position of Chair rotates yearly. The Economic Administrator manages daily operations from an office located in the North Peace Business & Resource Centre. The Commission's mission statement is to "encourage economic development projects to diversify and strengthen the economy of the North Peace." The Commission is primarily concerned with eliminating the barriers to economic development in the North Peace region. The Commission, working in partnership with stakeholders, has been the lead agency for the following projects: The North Peace Investment Profile The North Peace Rural Roads Task Force Northeast BC Oil & Gas Sector Employment Analysis North Peace 2010 Spirit of BC Community Committee 2006 Economic Development Association of BC Annual Conference & AGM in Fort St. John Meetings are held monthly and are open to the public.
